While my artistic practice has evolved over time and will no doubt continue to do so, painting has remained a constant and grounding element in my work. I began working primarily with acrylics, but during my time at university, I started exploring mixed media techniques, incorporating texture into my paintings in more experimental ways. It wasn’t until a year after graduating that I truly began working with oil paints. I was immediately drawn to the depth of colour and rich texture oils provide. Today, my preferred process for larger works combines oil paints with acrylic underpainting.
